"Quartz glass" has good transmission characteristics over a wide wavelength range from ultraviolet to infrared. It is heat-resistant, with a softening point of about 1700°C, and can be used at high temperatures up to 1000°C. Its thermal expansion coefficient is also extremely low, allowing it to withstand rapid temperature changes. Additionally, "fused quartz glass" is produced from high-purity natural quartz using the oxyhydrogen flame method, while "synthetic quartz glass" is mainly manufactured from silicon tetrachloride.
